Teacher Programs

Broaden your horizons with teacher programs. Teacher workshops, program previews, in-service training and other adult education opportunities are available for a variety of subjects. These unique learning opportunities address both Illinois State Learning Standards and Teacher Performance Standards. The Lake County Forest Preserve District is an authorized provider of teacher training.

    Teacher Open House

    Come out for an evening at the Lake County Discovery Museum to tour through our exhibits and learn about forest preserve programs and resources for your class with museum and environmental educators. Also take part in two teacher trainings including 'Winter Birding' and one on our new temporary exhibit 'Give Peace A Chance'. CPDU credit is available.

    Program is free, but registration is required. Call 847-968-3400 to register.
