The Adlai E. Stevenson Historic Home was built in 1938 by Adlai Stevenson II and his wife, Ellen Borden. The estate is a designated Illinois Historic Site and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The home is located in southeast Lake County near Mettawa and Vernon Hills. The entrance is on Saint Mary’s Road south of Illinois Route 60 (Townline Road).
